Hello, any news on this feature?
Klemen Hrovat
This is how Taplio supports this. Not sure what they do in the back, but it works
Klemen Hrovat
Any ETA when this will be available?
Gavin Yerxa
Plus one to this, it would be a huge help and currently a blocker to me posting almost anything on LinkedIn via Typefully!
I'm fine with companies for now.
Parker Smith
mentioning both people and companies is important

I'll re-subscribe when this feature is available. thanks!

I am using both but individuals more I think.

Need some quick feedback from all the people who upvoted this feature. Please reply below this comment.
Do you usually find yourself mentioning individuals, companies, or both? Would it be a deal-breaker if we only allowed mentioning companies?
The LinkedIn API has some serious limitations regarding mentioning individuals, and we are evaluating how to proceed.

Francesco Di Lorenzo: oh that's annoying. I think Taplio has the function to be able to tag individuals so I do think it's possible.
But if it's not, one is better than having no option to :)
Mariana Rocha
Francesco Di Lorenzo: Both. People and companies. But it is not a deal-breaker to mention only companies, at least for me. Even though I would obviously prefer to have both options (to call out the attention of the people mentioned).
Jens Schumacher
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I tag individuals and companies. It’s fine to start with companies, but would be really useful to be able to tag individuals as well. It’s pretty important for driving engagement.

Victor Grenu
Francesco Di Lorenzo: Hey Francesco, I'm generally tagging both, individual first, then sometimes companies.
P
Pete Hamilton
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I generally tag both, but I think more often companies. I tag people for "new joiner" posts for my company and hiring posts where I reference my team, and companies when celebrating new features, or when referencing my own business. I think "People" is higher ROI but one is better than none!
Sergio Simarro Villalba
Francesco Di Lorenzo: In my own use, I use 95% individual mentions and 5% company mentions.
Consider algo that individual mentions get much more response and interaction than company mentions, so I prefer to mention only people to get more engagement.
Thanks for the effort!
Florent
Francesco Di Lorenzo: ok with companies. thanks!

Francesco Di Lorenzo: I usually tag both. It is not a main issu to me if we can only tag companies.
Petros Amoiridis
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I had mentioning companies in mind rather than individuals. That's what I need on LinkedIn when I use mentions.
Xavier Coiffard
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I do mention individuals and companies on a regular basis (that's actually a good practice if you want to create a post that get views!)
But I know it's painful to code, their API is a nightmare :D
Valeriia Kuka
Francesco Di Lorenzo: We usually mention both
Murtaza Bambot
Francesco Di Lorenzo: mostly mentioning individuals :/ biggest benefit is that tagging individuals usually does a lot to increase engagement (esp. bc they'll often comment/like & the post gets circulated to their following, too)

Francesco Di Lorenzo: in my case, mainly companies, but I've read a lot of the other comments and it is clear that there is the need for both. It is unfortunate that they have such limitations on their API and hope a solution could be found to accommodate everyone.
Francesco Di Lorenzo
Aadit Sheth: Taplio is using the LinkedIn private API which might be dangerous for your account
R
Rick Lee
Francesco Di Lorenzo: Mainly companies :)
Florian Franco
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I usually tag individuals most of the time. But it‘s no deal breaker.
If it‘s only companies it‘s also good.

Aadit Sheth
Francesco Di Lorenzo: Thanks for letting me know!

Victor
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I would be mentioning companies more than individuals.
B
Brandon Marshall
Francesco Di Lorenzo: We are usually needing to tag employees at different speaking events and things like that, so actually make use of individual tagging more than company tagging! But both are definitely preferred.
J
Justin Vogel
Francesco Di Lorenzo: Tagging both but individuals much more often
Ian Efford
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I rarely tag companies and almost always tag individuals. Tagging creator friends and connections is a must-have for me!
N
Nikita Kakuev
Francesco Di Lorenzo: i tag companies more often but I still like to tag people every now and then.
Buffer app lets you insert the link of the page/person and it creates tag for you automatically. Not sure how they do that and if it’s easier, but just FYI. :)
Angela Hollowell
Francesco Di Lorenzo: Tagging individuals and companies would be preferred.
Justin Norman
Francesco Di Lorenzo: both! Deal breaker if only companies
Sandro Volpicella
Francesco Di Lorenzo For me it is mostly individuals. I'm pretty sure I've used it in feedhive but it didn't work very good as well there
P
Pawel Dolega
Is there any estimate for this? (is it likely this gonna land this year, or is it futher down on the priority list?)
Francesco Di Lorenzo
Pawel Dolega: we've started working on this, no ETA yet, but usually we ship new features in a matter of weeks.
Btw, do you usually find yourself mentioning people, companies or both? Would it be a deal-breaker if we only allowed mentioning companies?
P
Pawel Dolega
Francesco Di Lorenzo: I usually mention people. Mentioning companies still better than nothing
Alex Bass
Pawel Dolega agreed, pretty similar, but could get away with just companies for a while.
